Brian Gosser, MD

Answering the call to serve God in the world, Dr. Gosser graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1998 and began practicing obstetrics and gynecology in the spirit of Humanae Vitae. Today, with 22 years of experience, Dr. Gosser is a well-respected expert in the fields of obstetric care and Natural Family Planning with a specialty in Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC) deliveries and high-risk pregnancies.

He earned a certificate in NaPro Technology in the Creighton Model of Fertility Care from the Saint Paul IV Institute and works with many methods of Natural Family Planning.

Founding St. Joseph OB/GYN practice in 2019, Dr. Gosser practices in his Fenton office with medical privileges at St. Clare Health Center, Mercy Hospital St. Louis, Mercy Hospital South and Missouri Baptist Medical Center. Dr. Gosser is also the attending physician for Heart to Heart Homebirth, a St. Louis-based midwifery practice sharing his Fenton office and attending to patients in their homes.

Dr. Gosser is accepting new patients and works with many different insurance providers including Medicaid and Medicare.

Dr. Gosser is hilarious, gregarious and most of all, caring. He relishes his role as a “humble servant of God” and approaches each patient with humility, gentleness and a generous supply of corny jokes. When he is not attending to his growing practice family, he tends his home flock of 8 beautiful children with his partner in life, Francie Gosser, the artist who contributed the watercolor drawings on this site. He is also renowned for his brew master abilities, with a growing repertoire of home brewed beers.

Alyssa Dickerson

Alyssa Dickerson is a Certified Nurse-Midwife located in Troy, MO. She received her MSN in Nurse-Midwifery in 2019 from Frontier Nursing University. She has been a Registered Nurse since 2014, with experience in both Labor and Delivery and Cardiac nursing. She has also taught childbirth, breastfeeding and newborn classes, and worked as a doula.

Her philosophy of birth is that childbirth is a safe and normal life event for the majority of women, and should not be feared. She feels strongly that every woman has the right to choose where she wishes to give birth, and should have access to a safe healthcare system that supports her.

Her passions include gardening, teaching, learning languages, serving the Lord, and spending time with her family, including her husband and four children.

Alyssa focuses on evidence-based practice in childbirth, with a special attention to serving her local community, and the process of creating a new family. Her strengths are her empathy, ability to connect with others, and optimistic outlook.

Lauren Ulrich

Lauren Ulrich is a Certified Nurse-Midwife in St. Louis, MO. She received her MSN in Nurse-Midwifery in 2010 from Frontier Nursing University, and has been a Registered Nurse since 2004.

Lauren has been passionate about childbirth and working with childbearing families since early childhood. She started her education on a pre-med track to become an obstetrician, but soon realized she wanted to become a nurse-midwife instead. She worked as a tech on a medical-surgical unit through nursing school and was blessed to be hired as a graduate nurse on a high-risk Labor/Delivery Unit. From there she received training as a doula, started a private doula practice, and also began teaching childbirth and infant care classes.

Lauren is dedicated to the midwifery model of care provided in home and birth center settings. She completed her midwifery training at Colorado’s only free-standing birth center in 2010, and after graduating she began meeting with two organizations to start the first birth center in St. Louis. She eventually was one of the first CNMs to staff St. Louis’s first birth center.

Lauren is married with three young children, and has a special place in her heart for helping others who are struggling with infertility and/or pregnancy loss. She has experienced both and understands the indescribable heartache associated with each.

She has a great sense of humor, loves meeting new people, and enjoys music, movies and beautiful days.

Julie Zilkie, Juice +

Julie is a wife to one wonderful husband, and mom to 8 children-- 4 boys, and 4 girls, all of which she and her husband home school. She became passionate about nutrition and the connection between how we fuel our body and healthy pregnancies and births, when she became a mom for the first time at age 27. At that time, she was introduced to the Bradley Birthing Method, which covered not only natural child birth, but also nutrition as well. For the past 11 years, Julie has been on the front lines of the local food movement, where she started and manages a local co-op, connecting local people to their local food through farmers that are responsibly raising animals, and sustainably growing food. Finally, three years ago Julie began serving as a doula, and has enjoyed coming alongside women in the sacred time of childbirth.
